Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments
Licensed professional geologists' signature and analysis
Soil surveys
NEPA compliance (Writing EA and EIS reports)
Sub slab air monitoring
Groundwater monitoring
Environmental compliance at the federal state and local level
Geophysics surveys (delineating subsurface features for landfills, underground storage tanks, karst features, faults, and contamination plumes)
Geotechnical reports (Karst surveys and mitigation plans, Landslide assessment and mitigation, HDD feasability and susceptibility reports)
Geological mapping (delineating and mapping out mineral boundaries)
Hydrographic studies (discharge measurements with ADVs and ADCPs, water levels, crest stage gauges, wire weight gages, gauge house construction, assessment of stream control, updating the logarithmic rating curve for rivers and streams, and flood measurements).
Eric D. S. Gamble, P.G. is a licensed Professional Geologist with more than a decade of experience spanning geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, and environmental project management. He currently serves as a Geologist and Environmental Project Manager with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), where he leads multidisciplinary National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews for large-scale natural gas pipeline projects across the United States.
Eric’s professional work focuses on identifying, mitigating, and managing geologic and environmental risks associated with infrastructure development. His experience includes landslide and sinkhole mitigation, groundwater and surface water protection, soil and groundwater contamination remediation, floodplain and aquifer analysis, and post-construction restoration of disturbed landscapes. At FERC, he routinely coordinates with federal and state agencies, conducts public meetings, and oversees compliance throughout construction and post-construction phases.
Prior to FERC, Eric worked as a Hydrographer with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), where he conducted streamflow measurements, sediment sampling on the Mississippi River, and regional groundwater monitoring used for flood forecasting and water resource management. He has also served as a Research Hydrogeologist with the Indiana Geological and Water Survey, leading groundwater recharge, arsenic distribution, and water-use studies, and managing teams of research staff.
Eric holds a B.S. and M.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of Memphis, where his graduate research focused on Quaternary tectonics, fluvial geomorphology, and active faulting. He has co-authored peer-reviewed publications in Geomorphology and the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, and has presented research nationally on seismic hazards, surface faulting, and landscape evolution.
With a background that bridges academic research, federal regulation, and applied consulting, Eric brings a rigorous, field-tested approach to environmental and geoscience services. His work emphasizes practical solutions, scientific integrity, and protecting natural resources while supporting responsible development.
